Profile

I studied Industrial Maintenance Technician at INACAP and worked in the trade from 2021 to February 2024. In 2024 I started Computer Engineering and committed to it; I am in my third year, one year from graduating.

The plant left me with a standard: a system is not worth what it looks like, it is worth whether it stays up on the night shift with nobody watching.

I work back to front: understand the process and the business first, then the architecture, and only then the code. I am at home on the edge where software meets hardware — sensors, microcontrollers, plants — and uneasy shipping anything that needs somebody babysitting it.

Salmon feeding control

PLCs survive anything on a plant floor, but for the number of elements we had to control they meant buying module after module. Control moved to microcontrollers driven from our own service, with industrial safety as a starting requirement rather than a patch: hybrid feeding — remote and on the offshore grow-out site — at a fraction of the hardware cost. The system is still running; our involvement ended when development closed.

Education research platform

A platform to capture and process school data through recurring surveys. FastAPI microservices orchestrated with Docker Compose, PostgreSQL as the single source of truth and an Astro front end: building a survey stopped being manual work and the analysis stayed inside the platform, with no BI licences in the way. The project period ended.

A model of access to health services in rural areas when a route is cut off, whatever the cause. Ongoing research aimed at publication: results are pending publication, so only the framing is shown here.
